Happy New Year!

We are all back at school after a nice, restful and relaxing Christmas break. January has arrived, which means the grade eight students will be reviewing for their mid-term exams. Exams will begin on Tuesday, January 20^th and will run until Friday, January 23^rd.  A schedule of exams will come home with each student very soon, and will include a permission form, which lets us know if they will be staying after each exam to study, or if they will be going home to study.

We are currently reading the novel “Freak the Mighty” by Rodman Philbrick. Students received a series of activities called SKOOB to help them process and extend their thinking about their reading.  

We are also starting our social studies unit about ancient Egypt, which should prove to be fun and informative.
