After a wonderful summer full of rest and relaxation, we are all back at school and ready to learn.

 Welcome back!

Grade eight students have received immunization consent forms to take home and have signed. Please ask your child about the forms if you have not yet received them. The office has requested that the forms be returned by Wednesday, September 10th.

We have begun to read our first novel of the year. The grade eight class is listening to “A Company of Fools” by Deborah Ellis and keeping a listening journal. We have also begun our grammar and spelling programs.

We are working on a unit about fast food in French, and have begun a mini-unit on the concept of worldview in social studies.

Our annual “Meet the Teacher” night will be held this Thursday, September 11th, starting at 6:30 pm in the school gym. There will also be a used uniform sale in the gym, beginning at 6:15 pm.

Hello everyone!

The grade eight class is preparing for their mid-term exams from January 21st to the 24th. They will write ELA Tuesday, followed by science on Wednesday, history on Thursday, and they will finish up with Math on Friday.

Winter Camp is fast approaching. The Grade seven and eight classes will travel to Winkler on Wednesday February 19th and return to school on Friday the 21st. We are looking for a mom and a dad to volunteer to join us for fun and adventure.

We have just begun our new novel in ELA. We are reading “Freak the Mighty” by Rodman Philbrick. Students will complete a novel study called “SKOOB,” which includes various activities to extend their understanding of the story.

We are also about to begin a unit about Ancient Greece in social studies.
